Op 7 november wijdt het Gronings Instituut voor Midden en Oost-Europa (GIMOES) een conferentie aan de geschiedenis van de betrekkingen tussen Oekraïne, Nederland en België.

Given the current geo-political situation, have you wondered which philosophers influenced Putin's perspective on Russia? Additionally, what alternatives does Russian thought offer to his "Russian World" ideology? Come explore the religious-philosophical sources which contribute to this discussion and the role of religion in present-day Russia, by joining the course Russian Religious Philosophy in the Silver Age.

On Friday 16 June 2023, the Institute for Eastern Christian Studies (IvOC) celebrates the first anniversary of the Platform Oosters Christendom. There is a uniquely interactive programme designed around the theme “Orthodoxy on the move”, complete with short seminars and a panel discussion with renowned speakers.

This conference brings together scholars, journalists, educators, activists, and cultural workers based in the Netherlands and Belgium and working in the interdisciplinary Eastern European studies

Op maandag 28 maart om 19 uur (Nederlandse tijd, GMT +2) vindt er weer een nieuwe editie van onze online leesclub voor Russische literatuur plaats. Dit keer gaat Julia Sjabarova samen met de deelnemers een verhaal van Viktor Goljavkin bestuderen. 

Op 17 maart neemt het eerste literaire seminar voor neerlandici plaats. Onder begeleiding analyseren studenten het verhaal van de Nederlandse klassieker W. F. Hermans.

Op 15 maart vindt de eerste literaire werkgroep voor slavisten plaats. Onder begeleiding van Yulia Sjabarova analyseren studenten de poëzie van Nina Allakhverdova.

Rusland is wereldberoemd om zijn filmklassiekers. Eisenstein, Tarkovski, en Sokoerov zijn slechts enkele van de vele beroemde namen binnen de wereld van Russische film.

In 2022 wordt het NIP 25 jaar en daarom organiseren we een reeks evenementen in het kader van een literair en vertaalprogramma ‘Lees en Vertaal’.

Scientific and academic exchange has always been a method for countries to maintain bilateral relations. Although Russia has scientific relations with several European states, no such links to the Netherlands exist as of yet.
